 | Revitalize Gillett – A short history
In June of 2002, the city of Gillett was accepted into the Wisconsin Main Street program in which downtown revitalization is based on historic preservation. A non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation was formed called “Revitalize Gillett, Inc.” It is governed by a fifteen-member board of directors with Wayne Strei as its Program Manager. | | Revitalize Gillett Inc. has its office at 117 E. Main Street in downtown Gillett. The downtown area for revitalization is bounded on the North by Washington Street, on the South by First Street, on the West by McKenzie but taking in St. John’s Lutheran Church & Owen’s Fine Foods, on the East by North Richmond Street & Zippel Avenue. The organization, however, has taken on the whole community as its target for development and revitalization. | | | | | Board of Directors - Revitalize Gillett, Inc.
